When Sophie and Mark's marriage hits the rocks, an enrollment into the School For Husbands might hold all the answers.

Sophie had the perfect husband, the perfect marriage, the perfect son and what she thought was the perfect life. However, she gradually starts to notice that things have started to change and she is not quite happy with the direction that the components of her life are heading in.

The Straw That Broke the Camel’s Back

It was supposed to be an enjoyable evening, with friends over for a meal on Sophie’s birthday. However, the night that was supposed to be so nice, turned into an evening of tears when Mark did not come home, leaving Sophie to do the cooking and the entertaining, not to mention having to get Arthur ready for bed. Worse yet, Mark did not even bother to call and say where he was. With Mark working late and leaving Sophie with the baby on a regular basis, the birthday dinner disaster is the last straw and Sophie moves out, taking Arthur with her.

Admission Into the School for Husbands

In a last ditch attempt to save his marriage, Mark enrolls into the School for Husbands, a school for deadbeat husbands run by Dr. Martha. Sparse dorm rooms, unusual homework and strictly no alcohol are all on the curriculum, although not all of the students are there for the right reasons. Mark however, who is so determined to reconcile with Sophie, even gives 110 percent when one of the day’s class excursions turns into an activity of embarrassment in a neighbouring town. He is all set to graduate from the school with flying colours when an unexpected visitor makes a surprise visit to the school.

An Ulterior Motive

Sophie’s mother has never thought that Mark was good enough for her daughter and he certainly does nothing to help her meet her aspirations of having an enviable daughter and son-in-law. The rich and successful, millionaire Simon however, is another story altogether. With Mark out of the way, in the school for husbands, and Sophie and Arthur living with her at home, Sophie’s mother starts to cook up a plan to get Simon and Sophie together. She can hardly believe her luck when she finds out that Simon would like nothing better than to be with Sophie, although his reasons for the union are a little more sinister.
