Sophie Kinsella, author of the Shopaholic series, has written another comic page turner that will keep readers enthralled. With oodles of fun and laughs on each page be sure that Kinsella’s latest, The Undomestic Goddess will entertain.

The Set-Up

Told in the point of view of workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting, this definite page turner is about a twenty-nine year old who is now on the brick of her career. But with a partnership to the highest paid and most prestigious law firm on the way, Samantha is more stressed than happy that she is young and groomed for success.

But one mistake does it all. An important memo was found too late on her cluttered desk and now all chances at partnership are gone. Her career in ruins, Samantha walks shell-shocked out of her London office and out of her old life. On a train to God-knows-where, Samantha soon finds herself thrown into a life she is quite unprepared for.

From High-Powered Lawyer to Housekeeper

The Greiger’s are a nice family of two who aren’t too bright. They have no idea that they have hired a lawyer as their domestic goddess.

But nobody is as shocked as Samantha when she realizes she must cook and clean for these people. Never has trying to turn on the oven been so problematic. And this is from someone has been trained under “Michel de la Roux de la Blanc” in a Cordon Bleu school.

Samantha soon begins to see that being the Greiger’s housekeeper is far different than working as a lawyer at Carter Spink. She gets weekends off for God sakes. She hasn’t known what that is like for seven years! And now with so much time on her hands, Samantha begins to notice things around her, her new changed environment, and the handsome gardener, Nathaniel.

But when her old life catches up with her, Samantha realizes she must choose between her old life and the new one. What will she chose: the man that she loves or her career? Before everything, becoming partner at Carter Spink had been the most sought after and important event of her life. Now that the most prestigious law firm has made an offer she can’t refuse, Samantha is at odds with herself. With everyone expecting more from her, Samantha just can’t seem to decide what she will do, but she will have to, or else her life will be worst than a disaster.

A Fulfilling Chick-Lit

Though light and fluffy, readers will find Kinsella’s The Undomestic Goddess, a fulfilling read. Told with great charm and wit, this romance novel is a fast fun read that delves just a little deeper than the normal chick lit fanfare.

“Kinsella has given her heroine enough charm to make you care enough to stick with her through her trials, intrigues and romances,” said the New York Daily News on this greatly entertaining read.
